PROGRESS 1970 - 2005
In 1970 reden de amerikaanse kunstenaars Michael Davis en Stephen Moore van de westkust van de Verenigde Staten naar New York. Zij filmden hun reis door de achterruit van de auto, in zwart/wit video.
In 2005 maakten zij de reis opnieuw maar dan van oost naar west. Zij filmden de reis nu door de vooruit en in kleur.

De kunstenaars maakten van beide films een montage van enkele minuten, en zelfs in deze supersnelle flitsende beelden ontstaat een prachtig beeld van het amerikaanse landschap, het weer, het verkeer van de highway en de radio. Beide films worden nu geprojecteerd in Sub urban en daarbij is het ook interessant om de veranderingen in 25 jaar te zien.

Stephen Moore is kort na de 2e reis door ziekte overleden, de vertoning van de films is tevens een In Memoriam aan Stephen. Met dank aan Leslie Robbins en Cor Drost.

PROGRESS 1970 - 2005
In 1970 the american artists Michael Davis and Stephen Moore drove from the westcoast of the United States to New York. They filmed their trip in black and white video via the backwindow of the car. In 2005 they made the trip again, but this time from east to west. They filmed through the frontwindow and in colour video.

The artists compressed both films to a couple of minutes. And even these superfast and flashing images give a beautiful impression of the american landscape, the weather, the highway traffic and the radio. Both films are now projected in Sub urban and its interesting to see the differences over 25 years.

In the US now is a travelling exhibition about the project and there is a webswite "progress"
